Where to ride an Elephant in India

Riding an elephant is a sedate but fun way to view the world from a height. From your lofty perch you can pretend you are an Indian maharaja (king) or maharani (queen) of a bygone era, touring your kingdom.
So where exactly should you go to ride the gentle giant? Africa? Nah…too far away & too expensive.

Right here in India you can get the opportunity for a jumbo ride, at the Bannerghatta Biological Park in Karnataka . It is one of the best tourist spots in Karnataka for the entire family.

An elephant safari ride at the Bannerghatta Biological Park costs just Rs.75/- for an adult & Rs.40/- for a child. This is to view the Park’s residents atop an elephant. An even less expensive ride is available: elephant joy rides. It costs Rs.30/- for an adult & Rs.15/- for a child. For more information click here:

After visiting the Bannerghatta Biological Park, write about your experience and get paid! How? Simply register for free here: KarnatakaSpider.com and post your experience in the Resources section.

Lalbagh Botanical Garden, Bengaluru

The city of Bengaluru (earlier Bangalore) is called the Garden city due to the presence of numerous gardens that dot the landscape and create an oasis of greenery amidst commercial hubs. One of the most famous gardens is the Lalbagh Botanical Garden.

It is very vast, so you do need plenty of time (not to mention energy!) to really explore this area of flora and fauna in the heart of the city. Of course, you can avail of the open van tour which costs Rs.100/- per head. Believe me, though, it is more fun roaming around on your own down the neat pathways.

You can always take a breather on a bench in the shade of a majestic tree - just don't fall asleep!
