Diwali Kandeels

Known as the festival of lights, Diwali's lights are not just about diyas but also about colourful kandeels which light up the festival in varied hues.

A Diwali Kandeel is basically a paper lantern made from thin wooden/reed sticks which is then
covered all over with coloured paper.

Since my childhood days, these traditional paper Diwali kandeels have evolved into glossy showpieces of various shapes and sizes, some bordering on the bizarre!
